Descripción: Objective: Itis the examination of whether  there is acorrelation between Cystatin C and creatinine clearance among glomerulonephritis patients with stage 1-4 chronic renal failure. The study researchedearly and Severely decreased stage (1-4) patients with chronic renal failure.Primaryglomeruler patients were selected in order to see the result in isolationconnected with glomeruler exposure.  Material and Method: From November 15,2009 to August 30,2010, patients referred to nephrology clinics,  were enrolled in the study. During thepatients’ routine controls, their other data were obtained. Cystatin C level wasstudied in biochemistry labaratory of H. M. Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt T. and R.Hospital. Patients who had histologic diagnosis were taken into the study. Resultantcorrelation between Cystatin C and creatinine clearance was  analysed.Wheter there was a significantcorrelation between MDRD and Cystatin C was researched by Spearman’s correlationtest.  Results: 26 subjets with the age of 18-72 wereincluded in the research. It was seen that there was a significanly high levelcorrelation between MDRD and Cystatin C measurements(r=0,884; p<0,001). Whenthe cases were seperated to two groups in regard to their MDRD and Cystatin Clevels,it was seen that there was statisticaly significant but low concordence betweentwo examinations(κ=0,308; p=0,002).   Conclusion:In the end of the study, a common correlation between Cystatin C andcreatinine clearance was determined. Concerdence level was found low by thesubgroup analyses of the study. When it is taken with all the other studies,CystatinC is seen like a appropriate method for measure the GFD. But,after all thepositive and negative results were taken together,it is more appropriate tojudge on these results. To get more clear informations in this case, wider and detailed comparative studies are required.
