| Descripción: | This paper attempts to assess the status of the professional development of the librarians of the self financed management institutions situated in Indian National Capital Region. 92 librarians out of the estimated 126 responded to the questionnaires, which were analyzed. Different aspects of professional development like institutional support, individual initiatives etc. were considered in the study. Majority of the librarians have opined that there is lack of institutional support, which is must for professional development. However, librarians are active enough in taking initiatives for their professional development at individual level. In nutshell, paper does not paint a bright picture of the status of professional development of librarians under study. |
