Descripción: General guidelines for authors Your paper must not be submitted to any other journal.Use the authors´ checklist, download and sign the cover letter that must accompany your submission. Both forms are available at our web page. When preparing your article, make sure you reviewed pertinent literature published in the Latin American journals specialized on your subject. We openly promote the visibility of research produced in the region.  Examples of Latin American journals that qualify for reference are: Latin American Journal of Behavioral Medicine, Journal of Behavior Health & Social Issues, Mexican Journal of Behavior Analysis, Acta Colombiana de Psicología, Universitas Psychologica, , Revista Mexicana de Investigación en Psicología, Revista Latinoamericana de Psicología, Avances en Psicología Latinoamericana and  Acta Comportamentalia. At the moment of submission, please send the names and emails of two specialists on the topic of your paper that would consider serving as reviewers for the Latin American Journal of Behavioral Medicine.  These potential reviewers will not judge your own paper, they will help the journal by reviewing other submissions and in this way we will  keep our revision process times to the minimum. The LJBM will not return submitted manuscripts, make sure you keep a copy for your records.Send your proposed paper and the additional files (cover letter, figures and tables;  names and email of two potential reviewers in your field of expertise) to Rocio Hernandez-Pozo at: editora@rlmc-mex.org  or  to Malaquías López Cervantes at: mlopez@rlmc-mex.orgOther emails related to the LJBM like: rlmc@conducta-humana.org, rlmc-editores@conducta-humana.org  are for exclusive internal use (peer-reviewers and authors   following the process of a previous submission).Beginning in September 15, 2010, we will be in conditions to accept proposal submitted via  the OJS system at http://www.journals.unam.mx/index.php/rlmc, for now this web page is used only for publication of accepted articles and already published numbers of the journal. Format instructions Organize your article following the APA Publication Manual, 5th edition.  We accept electronic submissions, using Word 2003 or later. Typeset Times Roman, size 12, double space. In the first page, identify the type of article you are submitting: empirical, conceptual, short, technical or book review. Empirical  articles should not exceed 6500 words, conceptual articles, 5000 words, short and technical articles, 4000 words and book reviews, 2000 words. The maximal length of each article includes references and tables, unless the authors justify the need of an additional extension.Title (maximum 15 words), abstract (maximum 200 words) and keywords (4 to 6 terms) are required both in English and Spanish. We recommend that key words will be different from terms used in the title.Empirical studies should include the following sections: introduction, method, participants, apparatus and materials, procedure, results, conclusions, discussion and references.Figures and tables should be located at the end of the text file, signaling where in the text should be included. Authors are responsible for the quality of figures and tables. They should be submitted in black and white, in one of the usual formats: jpg, pdf, tif, gif.If the texts includes mathematical notation, equations o special symbols, authors are responsible for submitting those symbols as images, made under appropriate software or elaborated by a professional designer. Texts including symbols not complying with this requisite will not be accepted.Include a list of titles for figures and tables at the end of the text.Avoid special format for headings and footnotes. Only the first page footnote with information about the authors will be included.  Number the pages of your paper. In order to expedite doubled blind review of your paper, make sure the first paper of your proposal includes title and full name of the authors.  Provide email, phone number and address of a contact author that will be the one responsible of following up further communication with the journal. Suggest a short title that will be used as heading for the publication (maximum 7-9 words). In the first page footnote, provide an email and address of the main author, and specify clearly the participation of each of the collaborators to the paper. In this section include acknowledgments when appropriate.Beginning from the second page, make sure there is no trace leading to disclose the name of the authors in order to facilitate anonymous peer-review.Check spelling of entire papers in order to minimize grammatical mistakes.  Instructions for references  All references should appear in the text and the other way around. Mistakes in references will be corrected by authors and will delay publication of your paper. Some examples of the most common types of references: Articles: Doran, C.
