Our research was based on different kinds of auroral observatons at Belgrano Station (78.0°s, 38.8°w). we have studied 145 dark days, from March to September, 1971. We have obtained about 45% nights without identified auroral displays, because periods with bright moonlight and bizzards were rejected. Sudden enhancement of emissions occurred about 41.4%, 37.5% and 21% (for the lines of 557.7nm, 630.0 nm and 427.8nm, respectively) of the identified events. during July, August and September we have seen the increases of sudden enhancement of atomic oxygen emissions and the corresponding decreases of the nitrogen bands. The annual period of auroras observed at Belgrano Station, shows a peak at the time of the spring-equinoxe, and they are most frequent around the local midnight with a maximumat around the 3 hs (Universal Time). EL OBJETIVO DEL PRESENTE ESTUDIO ES REALIZAR UNA SÍNTESIS DE OBSERVACIONES AURORALES ANUALES (ESPECTROSCÓPICAS, FOTOGRÁFICAS Y VISUALES) OBTENIDAS EN LA ESTACIÓN ANTÁRTICA BELGRADO CUYAS COORDENADAS GEOGRÁFICAS SON: 78.0°S Y 38.8°W. SE CONSIDERA LA ESTADÍSTICA CORRESPONDIENTE A 145 NOCHES, COMPRENDIDAS EN EL PERIODO OSCURO ABRIL-SEPTIEMBRE DE 1971. UNA PRIMERA EVALUACIÓN DE LOS DATOS, DEMUESTRA QUE PARA EL PERIODO MENCIONADO, SE REGISTRARON UN 45% DE NOCHES SIN AURORAS (ESTE VALOR INCLUYE LAS NOCHES: NUBLADAS, CON FUERTE BRILLO LUNAR Y CON VENTISCAS QUE IMPIDEN LA CLARA VISUALIZACIÓN DEL CIELO). SE OBSERVARON UN 41.4% DE INTENSIFICACIONES SÚBITAS EN LA LÍNEA DE 557.7 NM, UN 37.5% EN LA DE 630.NM Y UN 21% EN LA DE 427.8.NM. EN LOS MESES DE JULIO, AGOSTO Y SEPTIEMBRE SE VERIFICO UN AUMENTO DE LAS INTENSIFICACIONES LUMINOSAS DEL OXIGENO Y UNA DISMINUCIÓN DE LAS CORRESPONDIENTES AL NITRÓGENO. SE OBSERVO QUE EL NUMERO DE APARICIONES AURORALES ERA MÁXIMA ALREDEDOR DEL EQUINOCCIO DE PRIMAVERA (EN EL HEMISFERIO SUR), Y QUE LAS MISMAS OCURRÍAN CON MAYOR FRECUENCIA ALREDEDOR DE LA MEDIANOCHE LOCAL, ES DECIR LAS 3 HS (TIEMPO UNIVERSAL). |
