Descripción: In this paper a new conception of science is defined, which opposes apocalyptic points of view —science is a perverse knowledge leading to world destruction—, to irenist points of view —science is an armonic knowledge, as a puzzle where we just have to match the pieces in a pre-established order—. Scientific truths can be insignificant, alienating or even destructive for man: this makes it necessary a social agreement. Nevertheless, this cannot be purely pragmatic, as sciences themselves impose their limits from impossibility principles: entropy, speed of light, incompleteness of formal systems…
