Descripción: El desarrollo de las cooperativas en Venezuela a partir de 1999 se ha visto marcado por políticas gubernamentales en el área jurídica, social, económica y educativa. La educación se ha convertido en un pilar fundamental en este tipo de organizaciones de la economía social para garantizar la continuidad de las operaciones y fortalecer el modelo de desarrollo endógeno del país. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar las estrategias de capacitación contable dirigidas a los asociados en las cooperativas textileras del Municipio Valera del estado Trujillo. La investigación fue de tipo descriptiva, se utilizó un instrumento aplicado a una población conformada por dieciséis cooperativas del ramo textilero. Las conclusiones mostraron debilidad en la gestión contable de estas organizaciones, carencias de conocimientos, habilidades y destrezas en los asociados que cumplen funciones en el área contable; inclusive debilidades en valores del cooperativismo como es el trabajo asociado. Se confirma que las necesidades de capacitación contable y de cooperativismo no han sido cubiertas con los planes educativos implementados por las instituciones del Estado. A manera de cierre, se establecen estrategias de diagnóstico, planificación, organización y evaluación del proceso educativo en las cooperativas.

The development of the cooperatives in Venezuela since 1999 has been influenced by the government policies in the legal, social, economic and educational areas. Education has become a mainstay in this type of organizations of the social economy in order to assure the continuity of the operations and to strengthen the endogenous development model of the country. The aim of this study was to determine the accounting training strategies directed to the members of the textile cooperatives in Valera municipality in Trujillo state. A descriptive research was done on a population which was made up of sixteen cooperatives of the textile field. The results show a weakness in the accounting management of these organizations, lack of knowledge, skills and abilities in the members who work in the accounting area; even there were weaknesses in the values linked to the cooperative companies, such as team work. It is confirmed that the needs in the accounting and cooperative training have not been covered by the educative plans implemented by state institutions. Finally, strategies related to the diagnosis, planning, organization and evaluation of the educative process in the cooperatives have been established.
