Descripción: Se despliega una mirada sobre el saber y la práctica médica desde finales del siglo XX abordando su discurso desde la ética principialista basada en la autonomía de las personas, en el principio de no maleficencia, de beneficencia y de justicia sustentados en la dignidad humana. El objetivo general es describir las características del saber y de la práctica médica de finales del siglo XX que generan el discurso de esta disciplina para lo cual se emplea una metodología de análisis de contenido de textos teóricos de varios autores. Se examina la influencia del progreso económico y científico tecnológico en el desarrollo de una praxis médica biologicista, avasalladora, poco humanitaria, fragmentaria con un discurso hegemónico que objetualiza cada vez más al enfermo. Se propone una práctica más centrada en los derechos de los enfermos que, sin dejar de lado los avances de la ciencia, tenga la virtud de transformar la práctica médica en una praxis de calidad, ética, y que reconozca la subjetividad del enfermo como eje de su accionar.

A glance unfolds on the knowledge and the medical practice from mid century XX approaching its speech from the principialista ethics based on the autonomy of the people, in the principle of nonslander, sustained charity and justice in the human dignity. The general mission is to describe the characteristics of the knowledge and of it practices it medical of half-full of century XX that generate the speech of this discipline for which a methodology of analysis of theoretical text content of several authors is used. The influence of technological the economic and scientific progress in the development of one stands out praxis medical biologicista, overwhelming, humanitarian, little fragmentary with a hegemonic speech that objetualiza more and more to the patient. One sets out practices but centered in the rights of the patients whom, without leaving of side the advances of science, it has the virtue to transform practices it medical in one praxis of quality, ethics, and that recognizes the subjectivity of the patient like axis of his to drive.
