Descripción: El objetivo del trabajo fue evaluar estructural y funcionalmente trece fincas con ganadería doble propósito en el municipio Obispo estado Barinas. Utilizándose la metodología de diagnósticos técnicos, estructurales, funcionales y mejoramiento continuo en los sistemas de producción de leche y carne con vacunos. Los datos se analizaron por métodos multivariados; considerándose las variables estructurales: litros/hectáreas/año; permanencia del productor; grado de herencia europea de las vacas y de los becerros; tamaño de la explotación; cobertura de pasto; número de vacas/ordeñador y hembras en el rebaño; generándose estructuralmente dos grupos de fincas doble propósito leche-carne; tres con mayor tendencia a producir leche y diez con menor tendencia lechera. Las variables de mayor contribución para la conformación de los grupos fueron: litros/hectáreas , tiempo de permanencia del productor y tamaño de la finca. La funcionalidad tecnológica, se consideraron las variables: racionalidad del productor, litros/vaca/día, recurso fibroso, becerros defectuosos, relación vacas en ordeño/vacas totales, salud animal y organización del ordeño. Del análisis se conformaron tres grupos; ocho fincas rezagadas, dos con nivel tecnológico bajo y tres fincas con nivel tecnológico medio; siendo las variables de mayor aporte, la racionalidad del productor, organización del ordeño y salud animal.

The objective of the work was to evaluate structural and functionally thirteen properties with cattle raising double purpose in the Obispo municipality of the state Barinas. Being used the methodology of technical, structural, functional diagnoses and continuous improvement in the systems of production of milk and meat with bovine. The data were analyzed by methods multivariate; being considered the structural variables: liters / hectares / year; permanency of the producer; grade of European inheritance of the cows and of the calves; size of the exploitation; grass covering; number of cows / milker and females in the flock; being generated two groups of properties structurally bends purpose milk-meat; three with more tendency to produce milk and ten with smaller tendency milkmaid. The variables of more contribution for the conformation of the groups were: liters / hectares, time of permanency of the producer and size of the property. The technological functionality, they were considered the variables: rationality of the producer, liters / it vacates / day, fibrous resource, faulty calves, relationship cows in I milk / you vacate total, health and organization of the I milk. Conforming to three properties with half technological level, two with technological level under and eight left behind properties; being the variables of more contribution, rationality of the producer, organization of the I milk and health.
