Descripción: A través de una revisión documental, el artículo aborda el constructo Gerencia de Investigación. Se reflexiona sobre las universidades como ejes centrales del desarrollo de las investigaciones que en ellas se tutelan, permitiendo esta actividad enlazar las demandas sociales y su potencial en cuanto a la generación de conocimiento. A la par, examina la atención que requiere la relación entre la definición de áreas temáticas y el Sistema Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación, en pro de articular, vincular e integrar los esfuerzos conducidos por los órganos promotores del desarrollo e investigación científica, las unidades promotoras y las unidades de investigación universitarias. En este sentido, la investigación presta especial atención al papel en materia de lineamientos y exigencias de los programas de apoyo a la investigación en diversas Universidades autónomas venezolanas.

Across a documentary review, the article approaches the constructo Manages of Research. One thinks about the universities as backbones of the development of the researches that in them tutelan, allowing this activity to connect the social demands and his potential as for the generation of knowledge. At par, it examines the attention that needs the relation between the definition of thematic areas and the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation, in favor of articulating, link and to integrate the efforts led by the organs promoters of the development and scientific research, the units promoters and the university units of research. In this respect, the ready research special attention to the role as for limits and requirements of the programs of support to the research in diverse autonomous Venezuelan Universities.
