Descripción: Branch of the Universidad de Los Andes which has as its objective the promotion and development of research and knowledge of History, Architectural Theory and Criticism. Objectives and Aims of the Center: The Center of Historical Studies of the Faculty of Architecture "Alfonso Vanegas" has been created with the objective of promoting and developing research and knowledge of History, Architectural Theory and Criticism. It concentrates its resources on the creation and accumulation of experiences in these and related fields, thereby articulating research initiatives in a common organization. The activities of the Center that support the programs of the Faculty of Architecture are the following: * To Take part in undergraduate and graduate instruction in those courses tied to the the aims of the Center. * To Offer advisement and tutoring to undergraduate and graduate students in the realization of theses or projects that fall within the knowledge of the Center. * To Offer possibilities to university professors to carry out research. Dependencia de la Universidad de Los Andes que tiene el objeto de fomentar y desarrollar la investigación y el conocimiento de la Historia, Teoría y Crítica de Arquitectura. Objetivos y Propósitos del Centro: Con los antecedentes mencionados se crea el Centro de Estudios Históricos de la Facultad de Arquitectura "Alfonso Vanegas" con el objeto de fomentar y desarrollar la investigación y el conocimiento de la Historia, Teoría y Crítica de la Arquitectura, concentrando recursos para la creación y acumulación de experiencias en esos campos y en los que con él se relacionan, articulando en una organización común las iniciativas de investigación. Las actividades del Centro que sirven de apoyo a los programas de la Facultad de Arquitectura son las siguientes: * Tomar parte de la docencia de pregrado y postgrado en aquellas asignaturas ligadas a los propósitos del Centro. * Ofrecer asesorías y tutorías a estudiantes de pregrado y postgrado para la realización de tesis o proyectos de grado dentro de las áreas de conocimiento del Centro. * Ofrecer posibilidades para la realización de trabajos de investigación a los profesores universitarios.
