propone realizar estudios posteriores. This thesis presents a study on the growth of single crystals of superconducting
tetragonal FeSe0.5Te0.5 fabricated by the Bridgman method and about the magnetic
and superconducting properties of the single crystals. Experimental results of this
thesis with other experimental results are compared. The data from the
measurements were interpreted with theoretical models of Ginzburg-Landau and
Werthamer-Helfand-Hohenberg (WHH). The monocrystalline nature of the samples
studied allowed to measure magnetic and magnetic transport properties depending
on the direction of the crystal, which became evident that these exhibit anisotropy
(dependence on the direction of the applied magnetic field). From these
measurements, it was possible to calculate the length of penetration, the
coherence length, the critical field Hc1 and Hc2 at the c axis direction and at the
direction parallel to the ab plane. Based on the activation energy calculations
depending on the applied field, two possible mechanisms for the movement of the
vortices were found. Irreversibility curve separating the solid and liquid states of the
vortices was determined. In all these results, the existence of anisotropy was
documented. Anisotropy in the coherence length and penetration length implies
that the geometry of the vortices is different depending on the direction of applied
magnetic field. When the field is applied in the c axis direction, vortices are
cylinders of circular cross section and when applied in the direction of axes a or b,
vortices are elliptical cylinders. The anisotropy of the activation energy indicates
that the dynamics of vortices is different when the magnetic field is applied at the c
axis and the ab plane. To understand the nature of the two possible mechanisms
of motion of the vortices found from calculations of activation, it is proposed to
carry out further studies. |
