Descripción: Metodológicamente se realizó una recopilación de información numérica y alfa numérica, en fuentes locales y nacionales, la cual, luego de ser analizada, clasificada y en muchos casos rectificada con trabajo de campo; sirvió de base para la construcción del inventario turístico inicial, respetando la clasificación de los atractivos realizada por el Ministerio de Turismo de nuestro país. Posteriormente, ésta base de datos, sirvió para generar importante cartografía temática, misma que facilitó el análisis y la construcción de los corredores turísticos y que seguramente servirá como insumo importante en futuras investigaciones para la construcción y determinación de circuitos y corredores que potencien de manera definitiva esta actividad en la provincia, contribuyendo así a su desarrollo económico y social basado en el aprovechamiento sustentable y sostenible de sus recursos y en la inclusión social y una consecuente mejor calidad de vida.
The Task consisted in developing a methodological framework that helps to collect and integrate diverse numeric and alpha numeric information from local and national sources into one single geo-spatial database. The resulting data, after being analyzed, classified and eventually corrected through extensive field work, provided the basis for the construction of the first resort inventory, respecting the classification scheme based on criteria of attractivity by the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador. Subsequently, this database was used to generate important thematic maps. it facilitated the analysis and construction of corridors for tourism and will surely serve as an important input for future research in the construction and determination of routes and other logistic tasks that would definitively enhance this activity in the province, and thus contribute to their economic and social development based on the sustainable use of resources in a manner that promotes social inclusion for a better quality of life for the habitants.
