Descripción: This work, the third in a series on white spruce bark, is concerned with the unsaponifiable portion of the ether extractives of the bark. Research on these extractives was begun because bark is a major waste product of the Canadian pulp and paper industry, difficult to dispose of and yet an obvious source of a wide variety of organic substances. It is hoped, of course that accurate knowledge of the chemical substances present in the extractives will lead eventually to their commercial utilization.
