| Descripción: | La finalidad de esta investigación ha sido pronosticar la radioatenuación troposférica por lluvia para las ciudades Valera y Trujillo, entre los años 2010 y 2014 modificando el ángulo de elevación del enlace con el objeto de observar la relación e influencia que éste ejerce sobre la radioatenuación, utilizando para este propósito datos históricos de precipitaciones (2000-2009) para predecir el período mencionado con el método de pronóstico ARIMA para series temporales. El tipo de investigación es de campo y predictivo, su diseño se considera no experimental, longitudinal y ex post facto. El proyecto se realizó en 5 fases, la recopilación de los datos de lluvia del Sistema Nacional de Información Hidrológica y Meteorológica y el Servicio de Meteorología de la Fuerza Aérea de Venezuela; la aplicación del método de pronóstico; consecutivamente, se determinó la intensidad de lluvia por hora pronosticada y se calculó la radioatenuación para cada ciudad; finalmente se presentan los resultados de la relación entre dicha radioatenuación y el ángulo de elevación al producirse modificaciones en el mismo. Los resultados obtenidos evidencian que el ángulo que presenta menor radioatenuación tanto para la ciudad de Valera como la de Trujillo es el de 30° y el de mayor nivel es el de 60°, lo que no representa una tendencia de los diferentes ángulos en un mismo año. ABSTRACT This research’s purpose has been to predict the tropospheric radioattenuation by rain for Valera and Trujillo cities, between 2010 and 2014 by changing the elevation angle of the radio link in order to observe the relationship and the influence it exerts on the radioattenuation, using rainfall’s historical data (2000-2009) to obtain the prediction of subsequent periods with the forecasting method Auto Regression Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) for temporary series. The research is field-type and predictive, its design is considered non-experimental, longitudinal and ex post fact. The project was done in several phases: based on the rainfall data provided by the National System of Hydrological and Meteorological Information and the Meteorological Service of the Air Force of Venezuela, consecutively, the intensity of rain in mm per hour was determined and then used in the radioattenuation’s calculation for each city, to finally present the results of the relationship between the radioattenuation and the elevation angle of the radio link when the latter is changed. The obtained results demonstrate that the angle with the lowest radioattenuation for Valera and Trujillo is 30° and the highest level occurs for 60°, although no tendency was observed.
