Descripción: Wireless sensor systems have an extensive application in data sensing and recovery areas such as safety and supervision examine, and authority and organize in battlefields. A user would issue a query and expect a response to be returned within the deadline in query-based wireless sensor systems. In the presence of unreliable wireless communication and sensor faults while the use of fault tolerance mechanisms through redundancy improves query consistency and it could cause the energy of the system to be hastily exhausted. Therefore, in query-based wireless sensor systems there is an intrinsic tradeoff between query consistencies vs. energy utilization. In this paper, based on hop-by-hop data delivery utilizing “source” and “path” redundancy an adaptive fault tolerant quality of service (QoS) control algorithms are developed. As a function of system parameters including the “source” and “path” redundancy levels utilized, a mathematical model for the lifetime of the sensor system is developed in this paper. While satisfying application QoS requirements, there exist optimal “source” and “path” redundancy under which the lifetime of the system is maximized is described. To exhibit the possibility of our algorithm design with physical explanations given, numerical data are presented and validated through extensive simulation.
