| Descripción: | Abstract: A survey of television and film producers in Australia was undertaken to examine the ranking of benefits, drawbacks, and performance experienced in international co-productions /co-ventures. From this survey, it was found that financial pooling is the most important benefit while increased co-ordination costs are the greatest drawback. In this paper, the perceptions of benefits and drawbacks reported by Australian respondents are compared with those of respondents to similar surveys conducted in Canada and are found to be remarkably similar. Australian producers, however, reported better international co-production performance than their Canadian counterparts. Résumé: Une étude de producteurs de télévision et de cinéma en Australie fut entrepris pour classifier les bienfaits, les inconvénients et les rendements découlant de co-productions et d'affaires en participation internationales. À partir de cette étude, on a trouvé que la mise en commun financière était le bienfait le plus important tandis que des coûts accrus de coordination étaient le plus grand inconvénient. Dans cet article, les perceptions de bienfaits et d'inconvénients rapportées par les répondants australiens ont été comparées à celles de répondants d'études semblables menées au Canada. Les réponses d'une part et d'autre furent remarquablement semblables. Les producteurs australiens, cependant, rapportèrent un meilleur rendement dans les co-productions internationales que leurs homologues canadiens. |
