Tema: pollen morphology, Lathyrus, Turkey
Descripción: Pollen morphology of four wild taxa including L. annuus L., L. gorgoni Parl. var. pilosus, L. cicera L. and L. hirsutus L. from cicercula section of Lathyrus grown in Thrace region (Turkey-in-Europe) was examined for their shapes, apertureties, structures and sculptures. The preparations of pollens for morphological characteristics were based on the methods of Wodehouse and Acetolyse. Pollen features of each species were initially measured and then photographed by a light microscope and a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The pollen grains are 3-zonocolporate of subprolate and prolata types (P/E=1.2378-1.4491) medium to large in size, eliptical or rectangular-obtuse-convex (equatorial view) and circular to slightly triangular-obtuse-convex (polar view). The ornamentation is reticulate. Some photographs belonging to species were also added.
