In this way, the author of this article produces a series of statistical data in order to show the degree of alienation of women from Mexicos public activities. Afterwards, she examines the condition of women within the framework of Mexican constitutionalism, and finally she proposes a constitutional reform that would help to create a "culture of gender", which in turn would contribute to bring about substantial equality between men and women. De esta manera, la autora proporciona datos estadísticos para demostrar el grado de marginación de la mujer en la vida pública mexicana, para posteriormente hacer un análisis de la condición de la mujer en el marco del constitucionalismo mexicano.
