The authors identify the path through which an old-fashioned legal regime can be modified and put up to date: the way offered by international treaties signed by Mexico. In the first place, the authors discuss the topic concerning the "hierarchy of norms" in the Mexican legal system (in particular, they discuss the meaning of article 133 of the Mexican constitution); secondly, they analize a series of international treaties on human rights, on privacy and "freedom of information". Asimismo, los autores identifican la vereda por la cual un marco jurídico anacrónico en el área men-cionada puede comenzar a modificarse y actualizarse. Dicha vereda es la ofrecida por los tratados internacionales que México ha firmado en la materia. En primer lugar, los autores se refieren al tema de la jerarquía de normas en el sistema jurídico mexicano (en particular, el artículo 133 constitucional); en segundo lugar, analizan una serie de tratados internacionales de derechos humanos, así como otros relativos al respeto a la vida privada y al derecho a la información.
