Descripción: Digital.CSIC is the institutional repository of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Launched in January 2008, to date the repository houses more than 29,300 items covering all CSIC scientific areas (Biology and Biomedicine, Food Science and Technology, Materials Science and Technology, Physical Sciences and Technologies, Chemical Sciences and Technologies, Agricultural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Natural Resources) as well as outputs by CSIC Technical Services (including, for instance, Publications Department, Libraries Coordination Unit, and the CSIC vicepresidencies dealing with Organization and Scientific Culture, Knowledge Transfer and Scientific and Technical Research). In a relatively short period of time, Digital.CSIC has become part of CSIC Strategic Line Vértices , has proved the benefits of making CSIC research widely available on the Internet through open access as well as the potential to consolidate as the institutional initiative to organise, preserve, analyse and give access to its wealth of contents. However, considering the high volume of CSIC publications, a new strategy is being put in place to make the repository grow in the most efficient way possible. This paper addresses the main working lines within this agenda, in which the automated feedback and the integration into the institutional CRIS outstand. So far Digital.CSIC has carried out a few mass imports of metadata and items, and currently is playing an active role, in partnership with CSIC IT team, in the building of the Scientific and Technical Contribution integrated platform. The main objective of this platform is to merge all CSIC databases containing information about institutional scientific production in order to rationalize all related activities, automate the process of metadata feedback from external sources and harmonize CSIC Information Management policy. Equally, this institutional initiative is a good opportunity to place the repository and CSIC Open Access policy at the core of CSIC Information Management System. This project started last year and during its development a number of challenges have been faced, which will be also highlighted in the paper.
