Descripción: This document is a proposal that will allow the implementation of power projects. Furthermore, within the execution of these projects, it will optimize the monitoring and control of actions, and promote compliance with the objectives set by specific management methods defined for each level of work. This model analyzes and includes the major elements of the methodology of the PMI (Project Management Institute) related to project management, specifically the document "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide)", used worldwide as standard practice in project management and professional practice that concentrates proven and widely accepted and innovative practices. On this basis, we intend to adapt this methodology to the management and control of electrical distribution projects. From the theoretical point of view the proposed concepts are applied to a specific case study: Electric Substation Tababela. The analysis performed on the stages of implementation of the substation serve to provide structure, flexibility and control necessary, allowing one to be continually updated on the progress of the work, the impacts on costs, resource use and mitigating risks. Under PMI methodology, components have been defined and risks identified. Likewise, threats affecting compliance with the schedule, which have had a direct impact on the final project costs, have been evaluated. Although the project was characterized as unique and temporary, we can apply this framework to set clear, measurable and transferable objectives, and implement strategies and adapt quickly to market changes. In addition, tasks within the scope of the project and the roles that meet each of those involved, are clearly defined, as well as the effects and constraints faced by the company to carry out the work. The lessons learned in developing this project will implement concrete actions to be assessed by continuous control components and thus may improve strategies that will enable better performance in the implementation of future distribution projects, which will contribute to better compliance with institutional objectives of the company.
