Ninety persons with severe head injuries and their caregivers were included in the study using the socio-demographic schedule and family interaction pattern scale. Results: The findings revealed that the Family Intervention Package (FIP) was effective in bringing about changes in the functioning of persons with head injuries, and interactions among their families in the experimental group, as compared to the control group. Conclusion: The multi-disciplinary team dealing with persons with head injury need to recognise the importance of multi-component FIP for this group and their families.
