The somatotypes of two groups of boys and girls belonging to two different socioecotromic strata are analized and compared. In a previous article (Villanueva 1979) it was shown thot muscularity is different in both groups being higher in children of the high socioeconomic level. Nevertheless using the Heath-Carter's method for somatotyping, the results do not indicate the existence of a significant difference between the groups, This induces us to believe that by this method, mesomorphy in children might not be evaluated correctly. El objetivo de esta investigación es observar las diferencias significativas de dos grupos de estatus económico diferente en la Ciudad de México, para alcanzar este objetivo se usó la técnica de Heath-Carter. Los resultados que se obtuvieron en esta investigación muestran que existe una diferencia significativa entre los dos grupos. |
