Its importance is going to last or even increase in the coming years. That is why the rational and efficient utilisation of the inputs devoted to maize production is equally important from the point of view of the environment and the profit for the farmers.
For analysing the question I have examined the production data of Hungarian FADN farms producing more than 5 hectares of maize during 2003-2006. This way taking the four years’ data I have concluded the analysis of 2982 individual and 761 corporate farms. For analysis purposes I have calculated the total direct cost spent on the production of 1 ton of grain maize and grouped the farms into 5 even groups according to this. At each group I have examined the main inputs in connection with maize production, the yields and the profits. I have paid special attention to the usage of artificial fertilisers and herbicides. Besides that I have studied the difference in the level of maize production among the different regions and also the influence of higher education on herbicide use.
The results have shown that despite the fact that Hungarian average usage level of industrial inputs is below the EU-15 level, in some farms significant efficiency and most likely proficiency problems exists, shedding light to possible saving opportunities as the highest profits were reached below maximum input usage. A kukorica napjaink egyik legfontosabb kultúrnövénye a világban és Magyarországon egyaránt. Jelentősége megmarad, sőt várhatóan fokozódni fog az elkövetkező években is. Éppen ezért a termesztésére fordított ráfordítások ésszerű és hatékony felhasználása egyaránt fontos a környezet és a termelők jövedelme szempontjából. A kérdéskör elemzése érdekében megvizsgáltam a 2003-2006 során a magyar tesztüzemi rendszerben 5 hektárnál nagyobb területen kukoricatermesztéssel foglalkozó üzemek termelési adatait. Ezen felül vizsgáltam a különböző régiók kukoricatermesztési színvonala közötti különbségeket, illetve a szaktudás megnyilvánulását a herbicid használat terén. |
