Sustentado en la recolección previa de material hemerográfico publicado por diario “El Comercio” (marzo - junio 2011), esta investigación plantea el análisis de 66 unidades informativas cuya elaboración visibiliza al sicariato como fenómeno criminal. Contiene una breve reseña histórica del fenómeno criminal, vinculado a la expansión de los mercados del narcotráfico (desde Colombia) aunque sin descuidar la historia nacional con el surgimiento de bandas ilegales vinculadas a grupos político-económicos del Ecuador, a demás de las dificultades teórico-prácticas en la conceptualización de este delito y su nula tipificación en el código penal actual.
La investigación presenta la relación del medio y su manera de informar al lector sobre el hecho criminal; se extraen indicadores de las notas informativas con las que el medio construye los imaginarios del fenómeno criminal; recoge las conclusiones del análisis de los indicadores que describen el perfil del sicario y de la víctima, impunidad y fuente de información. Based on a collection of hemerographic material published by “El Comercio”- newspaper (march - june 2011), the following research sets out an analysis of 66 informative units which visibilize “sicariato” like a criminal phenomenon. The research includes a brief historical review of the criminal phenomenon, linked to the expansion of narco-traffic markets (from Colombia) without overlooking the emergence of illegal gangs/armed groups connected to political-economical groups in the recent history of Ecuador or the theoretical-practical difficulties in the conceptualization of “sicariato” and the lack of formulation of such crime in our current Penal Code. The following investigation aims to show the relation of this mass media newspaper and its way of informing the reader about the criminal offense; several linguistic indicators will be extracted from informative units in order to evidence how the media builds the imaginary of the criminal offense, and several conclusions will be drawn from the analysis of such indicators which describe: the profile of the “sicario” (hit man) and the victim, impunity, and the sources of information. |
