This work frames a set of spaces dedicated to the culture of the book and of the library in the city of Jaraguá do Sul, from 1930 to 1950. Such spaces have constituted the first bases for the creation, in 1970, of the city’s public library. The data were obtained
from a doctoral dissertation, which sought to investigate a contemporary public library in the lights of some fundamentals of Cultural History, more specifically, it sought to understand, from a Micro-History approach, the constitution of the municipal library
of Jaraguá do Sul. The study considers that a community’s attempt to constitute its own reading spaces vary in time. Esquadrinha-se um circuito de espaços consagrados à cultura do livro e da biblioteca existentes no município de Jaraguá do Sul, entre as décadas de 1930 e 1950, os quais se constituiriam nos primeiros alicerces para a criação, em 1970, da atual biblioteca pública municipal. Estes dados são resultantes da tese de doutoramento, que buscou investigar uma biblioteca pública contemporânea a partir de alguns pressupostos da História Cultural, mais especificamente, buscou na vertente da Micro-História compreender a constituição da biblioteca municipal da cidade de Jaraguá do Sul (SC). O estudo considera que são diferentes os gestos de uma comunidade no esforço de constituir seus espaços de leitura ao longo do tempo no seu lugar. |
