Descripción: This article unites reflections on the practices and representations of knowledge, information and communication which orientate the actions of groups, social movements, entities and civil society organisations - more recently covered by the denomination Third Sector - with emphasis on Non-Governmental Organisations of Advice and Popular Support (NGOs/AMP). These entities, of historical importance in the field of popular education in this country, carry out political-pedagogical actions which it is important to examine in the context of modern information societies, since promote spaces for the production and employement of knowledge and information for the development and democratisation of society.
O trabalho reúne algumas reflexões sobre as práticas e representações do conhecimento, informação e comunicação que orientam as ações de grupos,movimentos sociais, entidades e organizações da sociedade civil - ultimamente englobados pela denominação Terceiro Setor - com ênfase nas Organizações Não Governamentais de Assessoria e Apoio Popular - ONGs/AMP. Estas entidades, históricas no campo da educação popular no País, desenvolvem ações político-pedagógicas importantes de serem revisadas no contexto das modernas sociedades da informação, ao promoverem espaços de produção e emprego de conhecimentos e informações para o desenvolvimento e a democratização da sociedade.
