This article exposes the interest that the technologies of information and communication (TICs) present in the development of the universities, especially, in the development of its processes of information management and internal communication. Based on a review of the state of the art in this field, different theoretical approaches from the field of theory of communication and institutional communication are discussed, allowing us to visualize the crucial role that information management has in the processes of modernization of the university. Finally, a methodological design for the study of the role of the TICs in information management in the university institution is presented, specifically in relation to the influence that the widespread use of the TICs has had on communication among university faculty. Este artículo expone el interés que presentan las tecnologías de información y comunicación (TICs) para el desarrollo de las instituciones universitarias, en particular, en el desarrollo de sus procesos de gestión de la información y comunicación interna. A partir de una revisión del estado del arte en este campo de estudio, se discuten diferentes enfoques teóricos que desde el campo de la teoría de la comunicación y de la comunicación institucional, permiten visualizar la centralidad que la gestión de la información tiene en los procesos de modernización de las instituciones de educación universitaria. Finalmente se presenta una propuesta metodológica para el abordaje del estudio del papel de las TICs en la gestión de la información en la institución universitaria, específicamente en relación con la influencia que el uso generalizado de las TICs ha tenido sobre la comunicación entre el profesorado universitario. |
