Descripción: |
The aim of the present work is to obtain a chemical-mechanical pulp (CMP) from poplar wood with improved properties, to be used in packing papers instead of more expensive softwood or hardwood pulp. For improving the CMP indicators, a preliminary treatment of the pulp has been done with three types of oxidizing enzymes – lignin peroxidase, manganese peroxidase, and laccase, produced from Phanerochaete chrysosporium. The obtained two types of fiber materials were double-stage bleached and then grinded up to 30oSR. It has been found that preliminary enzyme treatment yielded CMP with improved physical, mechanical and optical properties. It also is milled faster, thus reducing the electricity consumption. Two types of fiber materials were used for packaging paper production. It has been found that CMP obtained without enzyme treatment could be included up to 50% in packing paper, and CMP with improved properties could replace up to 40% of the sulfate-bleached cellulose. |
