Descripción: Many research studies have been conducted relating the parental involvement and student achievement. The results of these studies are varied, but the most common results indicate that there is a positive outcome in the academic performance of students stemming from parental involvement. With the goal of determining the extent of parental involvement among the nursing students, and the relationship between parents’ involvement and the level of academic performance, this study analyzes data from the parent and nursing student components of Liceo de Cagayan University, New BSN curriculum of school year 2010-2011. It investigates to confirm whether parental involvement directly influences student achievement just as it is claimed by most research studies. By utilizing parent involvement indicators derived from the Epstein’s model which states the following parenting types: parenting, communicating, volunteering, learning at home, decision-making, and collaborating with the community, and through the statistical technique of experimental, descriptive statistics for 40 students of the new BSN curriculum, the study shows that there is no significant effect of parent involvement in the student’s academe. Parenting, with the weight of 3.70 and verbally interpreted as always, is the highly exercised type of parent involvement while decision making, with the weight of 1.90 and with the verbal interpretation of rare, is the least practiced type. General conclusions based on the presented findings suggest that the academic performances of the nursing students are highly dependent on their own hard work and perseverance for them to excel academically. Although the study does not support the direct influence of parent involvement in nursing student’s academic performance, parents should still be involved in the academe of their sons and daughters being the students, so that they may be continuously supported and guided morally and emotionally.   Keywords - Parental Involvement, Academic performance
