Descripción: This paper presents an efficient method based on a modified fuzzy PI control with parallel fuzzy PD (fuzzy-PI+ fuzzy-PD) control for automatic generation control (AGC) of a two-area power system. This paper describes the control schemes required to operate the two-area power system in the steady state. The model of a two-area power system is established using the equations describing dynamic behavior of a two-area power system and control schemas in Matlab-Simulink program respectively. In this paper, typical responses to real power demand are illustrated using the latest simulation technique available by the MATLAB/SIMULINK program. Results of simulation show that the proposed a modified fuzzy-PI+fuzzy-PD control offers better performance than PID controllers at different operating conditions.
